YouTube has officially expanded the availability of its “Dream Track” AI audio generator to all U.S. creators. This new tool YouTube AI audio generator allows creators to generate custom short audio clips based on text prompts, making it a useful feature for enhancing video content.
Originally introduced in 2023, Dream Track is powered by Google DeepMind’s Lyria music model and was first offered to select users. The AI can create royalty-free soundtracks up to 30 seconds long, making it ideal for YouTube Shorts. Now, all U.S. creators can use it to create instrumental audio clips for both Shorts and longer videos, via the YouTube Create app. However, it’s currently limited to instrumental tracks, as vocal generation isn’t available yet.
Despite some restrictions, Dream Track offers a unique way to add custom audio to your videos, helping set the mood and elevate your content. While the initial concept involved collaborations with popular artists, it seems the focus has shifted toward providing basic, royalty-free jingles for creators.
This rollout is just the beginning, and the tool may evolve into a more powerful resource for audio generation on YouTube. It’s a great opportunity for creators to experiment with new sound options and make their content more engaging.
